This job involved adding to and altering an existing bungalow and re-organising the landscaping.
We removed a large hillock from the street side of the property, allowing the driveway to run directly to the garage and parapets were added to the street side to unify the mish mash of existing rooves. Under a pitched 'meeting house' roof the main formal spaces are laid out on axis from the entry, with the main living area stepping down into the view towards the harbour.
As a foil to the simplicity of most of the house some materials are treated delicately and finely and are positioned in horizontal layers.
